ABOUT ME
My name is Gavin Howard, I’m a high school basketball player from Austin, TX, with a strong interest in competing at the collegiate level. I currently play for Vista Ridge High School in Cedar Park, TX, entering my senior year. During the summer, I competed with Houston Hoops CTX 17U Miller. Standing at 6’4” and weighing 190 pounds, I’m focused on elevating my play this fall to enhance my performance for the upcoming season.
On the court, I’m a versatile wing, I play shooting guard, small forward and power forward for both my school and club teams. I’m capable of guarding all five positions and often help bring the ball up to initiate the offense. During my junior year, I earned First-Team All-District honors in Region 25-6A. As I approach my senior year, my goal is to secure District MVP recognition. Having started on varsity as a sophomore and junior, I’ve been honored to serve as a team captain in both years. I strive to lead by example, foster inclusivity with younger players and cultivate a positive team environment to earn the respect of my teammates. For my senior season, I aim to surpass 1,250 career points and help guide our program to the playoffs for the first time since 2017.
Academically, I’m a member of the National Honor Society, maintaining a 3.9 GPA and a 4.9 weighted GPA. I scored 1260 on my SAT (600 Writing, 660 Math) and have earned and will continue to earn dual credit hours through courses at my local community college.
